It is building bridges between great traditions of music of the past and contemporary thought, without the use of electronics and non-musical experiments. It was one of 87 projects selected by the European Commission out of 298 for its recent cultural programmes. It has caught the interest, imagination and admiration of over 100 professional composers and 80 performers worldwide, the composition department of London’s Royal Academy of Music, record distributors, festival directors and music lovers.&lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt;The book to be launched contains the Bournemouth Symphony players' impressions about the legendary Romanian conductor Constantin Silvestri; and the unique film, shown publicly in Britain for the first time on July 6th, a tremendous performance of Silvestri conducting the French National Radio Orchestra in Liszt's poem Tasso and Silvestri's own work Prelude and Fugue (Toccata).&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_5fkiMVm9OE0/TOnTkzfz1iI/AAAAAAAAA_8/nL2LiN1XP7U/s1600/IMG00115-20101113-2127.jpg"&gt;&lt;img style="display:block; Ionela Flood, writer, President of the Românca Society&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Associate Professor Dr. Paula Popoiu will speak about the Romanian traditional costume, and four young Romanians, wearing traditional costumes will highlight the colour and charm of our tradition, keeper of the Romanian spirit.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The Romanian Association of Wales will make a donation of books and costumes to the Embassy of Romania in London.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Associate Dr. Elena Tirziman will present the book donnation, in dialogue with the public.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The release of the Romanian poetry book Parfumul Ingerilor (The Perfume of Angels), written by Ionela Flood will complete the evening programme. We urge you to continue to follow your policies and beliefs and take the decision to open UK’s labour market to Romanian citizens once Romania becomes full member of the EU in January 2007. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;We are writing to you on behalf of thousands of taxpayers of Romanian origin, who have contributed to the astounding economic success that Britain has experienced under your leadership. Moreover, the members of our community have always taken an active role in the development of the British-Romanian economic, political and social links and they will continue to consolidate these links in the future.&lt;br /&gt;We are deeply concerned about the denigrating campaign of the past weeks in the British media that does significant harm to the true image of Romania. The numbers of Romanians who intend to come to work in the UK after 1 January 2007 have been highly exaggerated. After all, Romania has a booming economy and is already experiencing a shortage of labour. These trends, coupled with the economic incentives that will be created by EU entry and structural funds, are conducive to job creation and higher salaries. Consequently, the incentives for Romanians to work abroad will be significantly diminished.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;We believe that our arguments in favour of opening up the British labour market to Romanians deserve consideration. Firstly, we believe that allowing free movement of Romanian workers into the UK will contribute to economic growth in both countries. Secondly, this decision will prevent and drastically reduce incentives for illegal labour and exploitation. And last but not least, it will further enrich the relationship between Romania and Great Britain as NATO allies and EU partners.  &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It is a fact that the growing British economy needs an inflow of labour to cover a variety of sectors in the labour market. Studies have already proven the positive effect of the influx of workers from A8 countries to the British economy. The same studies have downplayed the alleged negative effects of Romanian immigrants on the British social welfare system. According to the British law, workers coming from the A2 countries would not be entitled to social benefits after 1 January 2007. Moreover, the typical Romanian immigrant is mainly young and single, therefore, it is unlikely that he/she would overburden the UK education and health system - as it has been alleged.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;As you recently stated in the opening of the TUC conference the immigrants from the A8 countries ‘have helped and not been burden’. We strongly believe that this will remain true if Romanians gain access to the UK labour market after they join the EU.  &lt;br /&gt;In the light of these arguments, we urge you once more to grant Romanians free access to the British labour market beginning with 1 January 2007 and thus, give us the chance to contribute to the cultural richness and diversity of Great Britain, whom we respect and Arts. We are looking for someone with excellent written and verbal presentation skills and a proven track record in fundraising. The applicant must be able to use their own initiative and work independently, while also having the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. This post is funded by the Paul Hamlyn Foundation.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;FYA is a small youth arts charity. We were set up in January 2006, since then we have held 2 large scale youth arts festivals in London. We have engaged over 2,500 young performers, 185 young volunteers and over 150 youth arts organizations. Our partners have included the National Gallery, National Portrait Gallery, Mayor of London, ICA, Arts Council, Hackney Empire and many more. FYA has a small but dynamic board of which 50% are young people. We aim to excel in youth led arts management.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The successful applicant will be managing a youth led mobile youth arts programme. This programme aims to engage young people who are NEET or at risk.  FYA gives them intensive training in events management to enable them to produce a youth arts event in their borough. A pilot phase was successfully completed in 5 boroughs in 2007 and we are now looking for someone to take forward the learning outcomes from 2007 to develop and deliver a full programme of events for 2009. The role will include fundraising, partnership development and project management. It will require hard work, imagination, creativity and attention to detail. The post holder will share high fundraising targets with the chief executive who will work with them on the programme.
