Domestic Abuse: How Can We Help?
A one day course on identifying and responding safely to domestic abuse in intimate partner and family relationships
For staff and volunteers who work with Black Asian Minority Ethnic and Refuge Communities

Date: 5TH June 2009
Time: 10am to 2.30pm

CaVSA are working with Standing Together against Domestic Violence www.standingtogether.org.uk to provide a training opportunity for staff and volunteers working with organisations which serve Black Asian Minority Ethnic and Refugee Community Organisations.

Learning objectives:
By the end of the training, you will have:
• Increased your understanding of domestic abuse and some key messages for your community about the issue
• Explored how your organisation can support survivors in taking the first steps in disclosing domestic abuse safely and seeking help from a range of agencies.
• Built the capacity of your organisation, through up to date information, to respond effectively to those experiencing domestic abuse.
